John Riddoch migrated from Scotland to Coonawarra and established Katnook in 1896 after recognising the enormous potential of the maritime climate and unique Terra Rossa soils. Katnook Estate is a range that epitomises the Classic Coonawarra. These single varietal wines have been crafted with perfection by giving attention to details since 1980. Finely balanced wines with concentrated fruit flavours and great regional integrity. These wines will reap the benefits of many years cellaring.

TASTING NOTES:

A lovely deep plum coloured wine with an enticing array of rich fruit and oak aromas. Accompanied by savoury plum and dark cherry with nuances of sweet spice and vanillin oak. The palate is vibrant with layers of plum, cherry and sweet spices enhanced by elegant oak notes and smooth, fine tannins. Enjoy it best with Coq a vin, Pan seared five spice duck, BBQ steak with blue cheese sauce, or grilled mushroom burgers.
