John Riddoch migrated from Scotland to Coonawarra and established Katnook in 1896 after recognising the enormous potential of the maritime climate and unique Terra Rossa soils. Katnook Estate is a range that epitomises the Classic Coonawarra. These single varietal wines have been crafted with perfection by giving attention to details since 1980. Finely balanced wines with concentrated fruit flavours and great regional integrity. These wines will reap the benefits of many years cellaring.

TASTING NOTES:

A beautiful deep red coloured wine with purple hues. The nose showcases a complex array of concentrated fruit and oak maturation notes. It also displays vibrant red forest berries with hints of peppery spice. The palate has a rich layer of red berries, plums and spices, complemented by subtle oak maturation characters and lingering, fine grained tannins. Savour it best with Barbecue eye fillet of beef, lamb shanks with red wine and rosemary or some aged cheddar cheese.
