Nepenthe is a reputed winery offering an award winning portfolio that includes 3 outstanding and distinctive wine ranges. These flavoursome wines were crafted under the supervision of accomplished winemaker James Evers. The company’s first vineyard was planted in the sub-region of Lenswood. The 43ha Charleston Vineyard was purchased in 1998, followed by the acquisition of the Balhannah and Hahndorf Vineyards. The Pinnacle range offers an exciting collection of distinctive wines showing great complexity, length and balance. 

TASTING NOTES

Gate Block Shiraz displays a deep crimson hue accompanied by a bright haze. A whiff of the wine reveals pleasing aromas of fresh red berries, pepper, oak and spice. The luscious palate is rife with blueberry and blackcurrant flavours, balanced by firm tannins. The finale is long and lingering. This delicious Shiraz can be enjoyed within a cellaring term of 5 to 10 years.
