TASTING NOTES :
The Site Wine Central Victoria Benalla Pet-Nat 2021, available in a set of 12 bottles displays natural winemaking with its tank-fermented blend that undergoes final fermentation in the bottle, remaining unfined and unfiltered. The outcome of this practice is an aromatic, textured, and energetically spirited wine. It flaunts a pretty pink blush and is perfumed, offering a generous palate that melds and fuses together the flavours of Marsanne, Chardonnay and Nebbiolo into one harmonious mix. It also makes use of Nebbiolo for a touch of colour along with an earthy, gamey layer, adding depth and complexity to the wine’s profile.
Behind Site Wine are Sam and Dunc, better known for Hop Nation Brewing, yet their roots trace back to wine, marking their fifth vintage with Site Wine. Their project is continuously finding new styles and terrains throughout Victoria while always emphasising minimal intervention and sustainable practices in their winemaking. By working with growers so closely to source the best fruit, Site Wine aims to capture and express the unique character of each vineyard's site. True expressions of origin go with small batch wines made by hand picking, natural fermentations without fining or filtration ensuring that every bottle really reflects its origin in this regard!
