WINERY INFORMATION
Tahbilk Wines is an iconic family owned winery situated in the picturesque Nagambie Lakes region in Central Victoria. The name of the winery was derived from its location, which was formerly referred as ‘tabilk-tabilk’ or place of many waterholes by the aboriginal people. The company was established in 1860 and later purchased by the Purbrick family in 1925.
TASTING NOTES
Tahbilk Estate Viognier is a golden coloured wine which exudes mesmerising perfumes of apricots from its aromatic bouquet. The luscious palate is rife with spicy and herbaceous flavours of grapefruit and nectarine, offering a waxy texture. The firm layer of natural acidity swiftly drives the palate to a clean and powerful finish. With the potential to be cellared for one to three years, this tempting white wine can also be enjoyed fresh upon release. It tastes fantastic with smoked trout pate, grilled chicken and a variety of soft cheeses.
