WINERY INFORMATION
Reginald Purbrick purchased the Tahbilk Winery in 1925 as part of a business investment. His son, Eric Stevens joined the company as winemaker after completing his education from Cambridge. He has worked for more than 40 vintages from 1931 to 1978. He is considered as one of the early wine pioneers to introduce innovative varietal bottle labelling in Australia. This wine recognises Eric’s contribution to the company as well as the Australian wine industry as a whole.
TASTING NOTES
Eric Stevens Purbrick Shiraz flaunts a deep ruby colour. The attractive bouquet effortlessly shifts to the medium to full-bodied palate containing juicy flavours of red, purple and blackberries. These great aromas and flavours are balanced by supple tannins and oak culminating the wine in an enticing finale. This delightful Shiraz has been crafted for consumption upon release but can also be cellared for a decade to allow its rich flavours to develop gracefully. It tastes fantastic with meat pie, cauliflower steaks and Parmesan cheese.
