Tahbilk Wines is a Tabilk-based family owned and operated wine company. The winemaking team led by winemaker Alister Purbrick crafts an outstanding range of fruit forward and multi-layered red wines using traditional winemaking methods. Founded in 1860, the company released its first vintage in 1861. This alluring Cabernet Shiraz received a Gold Medal at the 2016 great Australian Red Show for ‘Best Cabernet Dominant Blend’.

TASTING NOTES

This dazzling Old Vines Cabernet Shiraz from Tahbilk Wines is a fusion of 45% Shiraz grapes with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. It presents a deep red colour accompanied by a purple haze. The fragrant nose exhibits lively aromas of blackcurrant, chocolate, eucalypt and cedar. This stylish red blend is generous and full-bodied on the palate, filled with flavours of red and dark berries, violet, floral and Chinese five spice. Velvety tannins integrate with the layered palate to offer a savoury edge, culminating in in the wine in a captivating finish. This enticing Cabernet Shiraz has been crafted to be cellared for 13 to 18 years but can also be enjoyed immediately upon release. Pair it with kipflers, seared rib and red wine jus.
