Product Description
About the Winery
Tim Gramp Wines is a family-owned winery based in the heart of Clare Valley, South Australia. Renowned for producing wines that truly reflect the character of the region, Tim Gramp Wines prioritises sustainable practices and the careful cultivation of premium fruit from the finest vineyard sites. Their wines are crafted with a focus on quality, showcasing the unique terroir of Clare Valley, combined with traditional winemaking techniques.
Winemaking Process
The fruit for this Tempranillo Rosé comes from a single-site vineyard in the prestigious Watervale sub-region of Clare Valley, known for its distinctive red loam soil over limestone, also referred to as terra rossa. The 2023 vintage benefited from mild weather from January to April, ensuring even ripening and a balance of natural acidity and flavour. The grapes were given minimal skin contact before being drained off and transferred to a static fermenter for cold settling. After fermentation, the wine was racked off gross lees, cold-stabilised, filtered, and bottled in mid-May to preserve its freshness and vibrancy.
Tasting Notes
This Tempranillo Rosé presents a beautiful bright salmon pink colour in the glass, with inviting aromas of rose petal and violets. The palate is elegant and refreshing, with a dry finish that balances delightful berry and savoury flavours. The wine is a perfect example of a Spanish-style rosé, offering a subtle floral aspect along with a clean, crisp structure. It’s a beautifully crafted wine that showcases the best of Clare Valley’s terroir.
Food Pairing
The Tim Gramp Clare Valley Watervale Tempranillo Rosé 2023 is an incredibly versatile wine when it comes to food pairings. It works wonderfully as an aperitif, setting the tone for any meal. It pairs excellently with a variety of dishes, such as fresh seafood, Asian-inspired cuisine, and Mediterranean dishes like tapas, grilled vegetables, or seafood pasta. Its dry finish makes it particularly well-suited to complement delicate flavours.
