Wine Description

WINERY INFORMATION:

Named after Xanadu – the mysterious and exotic city described by renowned English poet Samuel Coleridge, Xanadu Wines was started by Dr John Lagan in 1977. He and his wife, Eithne planted their first vineyard in the Margaret River region, the same year. The Rathbone Wine Group later acquired the company in 2005.

TASTING NOTES:

Xanadu DJL Chardonnay displays a pale straw colour. Bold aromas of citrus, nectarine and fresh pears combine with undertones of beeswax, nougat and frangipani flowers to offer a perfumed nose. The taut and medium to full-bodied palate packs concentrated flavours of pears, grapefruit, white stone fruits and zesty lemon. These rich fruit flavours combine with bright acidity to provide an elegant quartz-like structure and creamy mouthfeel. This excellent Chardonnay ends with a long and crisp finale. Made for immediate consumption upon release, this delicious white wine can also benefit from cellaring for few years. It tastes excellent with toasted nuts, banana bread and pizza Margherita.
