Yangarra Estate Vineyard Shiraz 2021 McLaren Vale - 6 Bottles

WINERY INFORMATION

The Shiraz manufactured by Yangarra Estate is considerably different in style as compared to other McLaren Vale Shiraz wines. The vineyard site is covered with variations of sand and ironstone soils, which consist of separate blocks of Shiraz grapes. The vintage experienced extreme climatic conditions, but in the end, the fruit turned out to be juicy, appealing and flavoursome, allowing the creation of this splendid red wine.

TASTING NOTES

Harvested at night and destemmed immediately, the grapes were subjected to cold fermentation in open-top fermenters for about a week. Kept on lees for around 12 to 14 days, the wine was finally blended, fined, filtered and bottled. The resulting Shiraz displays a vibrant crimson-purple colour, with aromas and flavours of black fruits and dark chocolate abundant in the wine. The full weighted palate is filled with eloquent tannins, which provide a powerful structure and smooth texture to this Shiraz. Suggested food matches for this flavoursome wine include grilled lamb, beef stew and Chili Colorado.
