The Ryrie brothers planted the vines in 1838 on land named ‘Yering’ by the Aboriginal community and became the first vineyard in the state of Victoria. The brothers acquired 43,000 acres and planted two grape varieties – black cluster and sweet water. They produce many varieties of fine wines today - Yering station Pinot Noir, Yering station Chardonnay, Yering Station Shiraz.
