In the mid – 19th century, wine merchants David and Samuel Wynn bought the property owned by Riddoch and converted it into the ‘Wynns Coonawarra Estate’.
The brothers recognized the potential and elegant characteristics of wines from the Coonawarra region and decided to build their winemaking business upon these features of freshness, richness and flavour intensity. Owing to their passion and hard work, John Riddoch’s small winery grew into a giant winemaking business. It is now one of the most notable wineries in Australia.
