1. Wine grapes are different which are first grown and then harvested
Uniqueness makes people or things stand out. Yes! You read it right. Wine grapes are distinct from the ordinary and usual grapes. These grapes are then accumulated and harvested.
2. Crushing and crumpling of the grapes
It becomes necessary to slow down the harsh vegetal-tasting tannin. Wine grapes are crushed and crumpled. Some wineries have the long conveyor belts to check whether there are any bad quality grapes or leaves left. Shortly afterwards, the grapes are crushed and deformed which is further put into an environment which is favourable for the required yeast to develop. As a result, a beautiful fermentation takes place which ultimately leads to the dark red colour of the wine.
3. From yeast to sugar to alcohol
Now the fermentation process begins wherein the yeast consumes the sugar and finally turns it into alcohol. It’s interesting to know that red wines are fermented or prepared by boiling at a moderately hot temperature.
4. Fine-tuning and filtering of the red wine
Yes! We’ve come at a stage where after the long fermentation process, the wine is finely tuned. A proper fining is being done to make the wine clear and shiny. Many times, wine additives are being added. Then, the filtration process takes place.
5. Bottling of the wines
It may happen that many wines are not filtered properly. It doesn’t mean that unfiltered wines are bottled and sold in the market. No, this seems to be something out of line. In fact, the unfiltered wines are poured off or go through the decantation process to separate out the sediment. After this, the wines get bottled and leave the place for the market to meet its wine lovers.
