About Brokenwood Wines
Brokenwood was established in 1970 by James Halliday AM - yes, that James Halliday, whose Wine Companion scores are now the benchmark for Australian wine quality - alongside John Beeston and Tony Albert. From the very beginning, the winery set out to produce exceptional wines from exceptional sites.
Home is the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, one of Australia's oldest and most distinctive wine regions. But Brokenwood has never limited itself to one geography.
Over the decades, the team has sourced fruit from Orange, McLaren Vale, Beechworth, and beyond, always chasing flavour rather than convenience. Today, winemaker Stuart Hordern leads the cellar, continuing a tradition of quality that Iain Riggs built over 38 extraordinary vintages.
Brokenwood produces around 100,000 dozen bottles a year across a range that spans
