Wirra Wirra Vineyards was founded in 1894 by eccentric South Australian cricketer Robert Strangways Wigley. In 1969, visionary Greg Trott rebuilt the historic ironstone cellars and turned the property into one of McLaren Vale’s most loved wineries. Wirra Wirra is an Aboriginal name meaning “amongst the gum trees”.
