Alkoomi Wines, established in 1971 in the Frankland River subregion of Western Australia’s Great Southern, is one of the state’s most respected family-owned wineries. Region & Vintage
Frankland River is celebrated for producing Cabernet Sauvignon of structure, elegance, and exceptional aging potential. Its gravelly soils, cool maritime climate, and extended ripening season give fruit remarkable depth of flavour and fine tannin structure. The 2022 vintage was outstanding — a mild, dry season that allowed fruit to ripen slowly and evenly, delivering wines with concentration, balance, and finesse.

Winemaking
Hand-picked fruit from select vineyard blocks was fermented in small batches with extended skin contact to extract colour, flavour, and tannin. The wine was matured in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barriques, enhancing complexity with subtle notes of spice, cedar, and mocha while preserving varietal purity.

Tasting Notes
Deep garnet in colour. The nose reveals aromas of cassis, blackberry, and mulberry, layered with hints of bay leaf, graphite, and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied and refined, with concentrated dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a savoury, earthy undertone. A long, structured finish showcases both power and elegance.
