Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
Fruit for the 2017 Blackbutt Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from old vines planted in the Frankland River’s gravelly loam soils. The 2024 vintage was marked by a long, cool growing season, producing fruit of outstanding flavour concentration, balanced acidity, and finely tuned tannins.

Winemaking Process
Carefully hand-picked grapes underwent extended maceration to extract colour and tannin, before maturing in premium French oak barriques for 18 months. This patient approach added depth, structure, and complexity while preserving varietal purity.

Tasting Notes
Deep garnet in colour. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, and dark plum are layered with notes of tobacco, cedar, and subtle spice. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, with concentrated dark fruits, firm yet refined tannins, and a long, savoury finish.

Food Pairing
A natural match with roast lamb, venison, or aged beef. It also pairs beautifully with strong cheeses and rich, slow-cooked dishes.
