Established in 1886, Angove Family Winemakers has a long history of producing Australian wines, with the family name closely associated with generations of winemaking. Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2022 Barossa Valley vintage produced high-quality fruit despite a number of challenges during the growing season. A cooler summer, combined with warm sunny days and cool nights, allowed the grapes to ripen steadily and develop concentrated fruit flavours while retaining freshness. The resulting vintage was noted for its quality and complexity.

Winemaking

The fruit was harvested at night when temperatures were coolest to help preserve freshness and fruit integrity. After gentle crushing, the grapes underwent a cold soak to encourage colour and flavour extraction before fermentation. The wine was then pressed from the skins, underwent malolactic fermentation and was matured with oak before blending and bottling.

Appearance: Deep purple-red with vibrant magenta edges.

Aroma: Bright raspberry and red cherry aromas are layered with subtle spice.

Palate: Generous and concentrated, with dark red fruit complemented by hints of liquorice and chocolate. Soft oak adds further depth and texture.
