Winery Background

Angove Family Winemakers, established in 1886, is a multi-generational winery based in South Australia, farming vineyards in both McLaren Vale and Riverland. Their ‘Naturalis’ range is certified organic, meaning no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or fertilisers are used in the vineyard or winemaking. The focus is pure, clean expression of fruit from organically farmed grapes.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

This Sauvignon Blanc is produced from grapes grown in Angove’s organic Nanya Vineyard, located in the Riverland region. The soils are sandy loam over limestone, offering good drainage and minerality. Warm days and cool evenings during the ripening period help build fruit character while retaining natural acidity. The 2023 season delivered ideal conditions for vibrant, flavour-packed fruit.

Winemaking

Grapes are harvested from certified organic vines and handled with gentle care to preserve freshness. There is no use of synthetic inputs at any stage. Fermentation is likely carried out in stainless steel, preserving the bright aromatics. Minimal preservatives are used. The style is meant to be enjoyed young, with a “drink-young” profile emphasised.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Bright and clear with a faint green hue.

• Aroma: Aromas of apple, passionfruit and lychee, with sweet tropical notes.

• Palate: Crisp and refreshing, with those aromatics of apple, passionfruit and adds a delicate gooseberry flavour. Clean finish, with lively acidity.
  

Food Pairing

Pairs beautifully with fresh shellfish, citrus-dressed salads, sushi, or grilled chicken. Also excellent as a chilled aperitif on warm days.
