Winery Background

Angove Family Winemakers, founded in 1886, is one of Australia’s long-standing family wine companies. They manage vineyards in the Riverland and McLaren Vale, among other regions, and have made a strong commitment to organic viticulture with their Naturalis range. These wines are certified organic and vegan, with minimal intervention from vineyard through to bottle.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The fruit is sourced from the certified organic Nanya Vineyard in the Riverland region of South Australia. The soils here are moderately fertile, allowing good vine growth while maintaining flavour concentration. The 2022 vintage brought warm days and cool nights, helping preserve acidity and aromatic freshness typical of Pinot Grigio.

Winemaking

Grapes are hand-picked and handled gently to ensure they retain their purity. The wine is fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruit freshness and crisp acidity. Minimal handling and filtration ensures the organic character is respected. Vegan-friendly practices are used, and no synthetic herbicides, pesticides, or non-organic inputs are used in the vineyard.

Tasting Notes

• Palate: Delicate and refreshing, showing flavours of pear, peach, with crisp apple and lemon rind. Clean and lively on the finish.

Food Pairing

Excellent with light dishes such as grilled seafood, goat or sheep’s cheese, fresh vegetarian tapas or salads. Also works well as an aperitif on its own, especially when served chilled.
