Winery Background

Angove Family Winemakers, established in 1886, is a well-known family-owned winery in South Australia. They have been leaders in organic viticulture for many years, especially through their certified organic Angove Organic range. Their vineyards in Riverland (notably the Nanya Vineyard) are farmed without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, and the winemaking practices emphasise purity, minimal intervention, and sustainability.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

This Rosé is drawn from grapes grown in the Riverland region. The warm days and cool evenings typical of Riverland provide good ripeness with preserved acidity. The organic certification ensures healthy vines and soil, which contribute to clean fruit flavour and a vibrant, bright style. The NV (“Non-Vintage”) format allows the winemaker to blend across years if needed to maintain consistency.

Winemaking

Crafted from organically grown Shiraz grapes (and often with a little splash of Sauvignon Blanc for lift), the fruit is harvested early in the morning or cool conditions to preserve freshness. The grapes are pressed gently, with minimal skin contact to yield a delicate, pale rosé colour. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel under controlled temperatures to retain aromas and fruit purity. The wine is treated with minimal preservatives and is vegan-friendly.

Tasting Notes

• Aroma: Fresh strawberries, watermelon & cherry, with subtle hints of apple.
  

• Palate: Crisp and clean with plenty of red berry character—strawberry, cherry—with a dry, refreshing finish. Bright acidity lifts the fruit.

Pairs beautifully with fresh salads, grilled seafood, sushi, or spicy Asian cuisine. Also excellent chilled on its own for afternoons or casual gatherings.
