Winery Background
Aphelion is a boutique McLaren Vale winery dedicated to crafting small-batch wines that celebrate purity, precision, and regional expression. While best known for Grenache, the estate also produces distinctive whites, with Pir Chenin Blanc showcasing a fresh and textural side of McLaren Vale.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
Fruit for the 2025 release was sourced from select Chenin Blanc vines grown in the Vale’s diverse soils. The vintage provided warm, consistent days and cooling sea breezes, resulting in fruit of exceptional balance, with vibrant acidity and layered flavour development.

Winemaking Process
Hand-harvested fruit was whole-bunch pressed, with fermentation carried out using wild yeasts. A portion was aged in seasoned French oak to add texture and savoury complexity, while the remainder rested in stainless steel to preserve freshness and lift. Lees stirring contributed depth and mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes
Pale straw in colour. Aromas of green apple, quince, and lemon zest are layered with subtle notes of honey and almond. The palate is crisp yet textural, with citrus and orchard fruit driving through to a mineral, refreshing finish.

Food Pairing
Ideal with fresh seafood, goat’s cheese, lightly spiced Asian dishes, or roast chicken with herbs.
