Product Description

Rabajà is one of Bruno Rocca's signature vineyard sites and is regarded as one of the estate's most important expressions of Nebbiolo. The winery has cultivated vineyards around Barbaresco since the 1950s, with Bruno Rocca beginning to produce wines under his own name in 1978. This Riserva represents a particularly refined expression of the Rabajà terroir.

Vintage Conditions

The 2019 vintage delivered favourable conditions for Nebbiolo, particularly during August and September, allowing the grapes to develop excellent acidity and phenolic complexity. The resulting wine combines concentration and structure with the freshness needed for long-term ageing.

Winemaking Techniques

The grapes are hand harvested and carefully selected before fermentation in wooden casks for approximately 40 to 45 days. The wine is then matured in French oak casks for around 14 to 16 months, allowing the substantial structure of the Nebbiolo to develop greater complexity and integration.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections

Aroma: Dark berries, raspberry and dried flowers, with notes of dark rose, sweet tobacco, cedar, spice and subtle black truffle

Palate: Full-bodied and powerful yet refined, with juicy acidity, fine-grained tannins and concentrated red-fruit character

Finish: Long, polished and persistent, with saline, mineral and spicy nuances
