Winery Background
Founded in 2005, Catalina Sounds has quickly established itself as one of Marlborough’s most exciting producers. Named after the iconic Catalina flying boats once stationed nearby, the winery is dedicated to producing expressive, site-driven wines that reflect the unique terroir of New Zealand’s South Island. Sauvignon Blanc is their flagship variety, crafted with precision and vibrancy.

Region & Vintage
Marlborough is the spiritual home of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, renowned for its cool nights, abundant sunshine, and free-draining soils. The 2024 vintage was outstanding, with moderate temperatures and a long ripening period allowing grapes to develop intense aromatics, bright acidity, and concentrated flavours without losing balance.

Winemaking
Fruit was sourced from select Marlborough vineyard sites. Gentle pressing and cool fermentation in stainless steel preserved aromatics and varietal purity. A portion was fermented in seasoned oak and left on lees to enhance texture and mouthfeel, adding depth without compromising freshness.
