Coppabella Vineyard is a family-owned estate in Tumbarumba, New South Wales, originally planted in the early 1990s and now overseen by Jason and Alecia Brown. Located at high elevation with cool temperatures, the site is recognised for producing expressive Pinot Gris with a focus on purity and balance.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2024 Pinot Gris fruit was sourced from elevated vineyard blocks in Tumbarumba where slow, cool ripening preserves natural acidity and develops nuanced flavours. The season allowed for gentle maturation without sacrificing freshness.

Winemaking Process

Grapes were whole-bunch pressed to extract clear juice and gently fermented using wild yeasts in French oak puncheons and barriques—with a portion in stainless steel to maintain crisp varietal character. Zero malolactic fermentation and light lees stirring added texture without overpowering the fruit.

Tasting Notes

This wine lifts with aromas of grapefruit, nashi pear and honeysuckle framed by subtle spicy oak. On the palate, citrus and stone fruit weave through creamy texture and taut mineral acidity. It finishes long, precise and inviting.
