Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
Hawke’s Bay’s Gimblett Gravels is internationally recognized for producing Syrah of exceptional elegance, often compared with the Northern Rhône. The 2021 vintage provided a long, even ripening period, yielding fruit with great intensity and natural balance.

Winemaking Process
Hand-harvested grapes were partially fermented with whole bunches to enhance aromatic lift and spice. Indigenous yeasts were used for fermentation, and the wine was aged for 14 months in French oak barriques (20% new).

Tasting Notes
Aromas of violet, black pepper, and dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with flavours of blackberry, plum, smoked meat, and savoury spice. Silky tannins and a lingering mineral finish highlight its finesse and age-worthiness.

Food Pairing
Ideal with grilled lamb, venison, or chargrilled vegetables with Mediterranean herbs.
