Winery Background
Cullen Wines is an iconic Margaret River estate, celebrated as a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture and a benchmark producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay in Australia. The Diana Madeline is Cullen’s flagship red, named in honour of founder Diana Cullen, and represents the pinnacle of elegance, balance, and longevity.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The fruit is sourced exclusively from Cullen’s historic Wilyabrup vineyards, certified biodynamic and organically farmed. The 2022 vintage was cooler and later than average, allowing for slow, even ripening. This produced Cabernet fruit of exceptional purity, fine tannins, and remarkable natural acidity.

Winemaking Process
Hand-harvested and sorted fruit was fermented with wild yeasts in small batches. Minimal intervention was used throughout, with gentle extraction and maturation in fine-grained French oak (part new) for complexity. Biodynamic practices guided the process, ensuring vibrancy and terroir expression.

Tasting Notes
Deep garnet with purple edges. Aromas of cassis, mulberry, and blueberry are layered with notes of violets, cedar, and graphite. The palate is precise and structured, delivering dark berry fruit, savoury spice, and silky tannins, finishing long and elegant with mineral freshness.

Perfect with venison, beef fillet, roast lamb, or aged hard cheeses.
