Winery Background

Fowles Wines is a family‐run estate in the Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria. The “Are You Game?” range brings a spirited approach to cool‑climate winemaking, crafting wines that are vibrant, textured and designed with food in mind. 

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2021 Pinot Noir is sourced from high‑altitude vineyards situated between 430–550 metres on granite-based soils. Cool nights and even ripening preserved fresh red-fruit character, while low yields concentrated flavour.

Winemaking Process

Fermented as a blend of crushed and whole berries using a cultured yeast selected to enhance spice and fruit clarity. The wine matured for six months in predominantly new French oak. A dash of Mourvèdre (3 %) was added to introduce savoury spice and support the tannin structure.

Tasting Notes

Bright cherry red in colour with aromas of wild strawberry, forest berries, rhubarb, lavender and cinnamon. The palate is vibrant with red summer fruits, macerated strawberries and spice, complemented by savoury oak undertones and a soft, silky finish.

Food Pairing

Pairs nicely with duck, grilled salmon, mushroom‑based dishes or lighter charcuterie. Its structure and finesse also suit earthy vegetarian fare featuring mushrooms or root vegetables.
