Cabernet Bosché comes from Freemark Abbey's historic Bosché Vineyard in the heart of the Rutherford Bench. The vineyard is renowned for producing Cabernet with an elegant balance of ripe fruit, refined tannins and distinctive Rutherford character.

Vintage Conditions

The 2019 vintage provided excellent conditions for producing concentrated yet balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit developed ripe flavours and depth while maintaining the freshness and structure needed for graceful ageing.

Winemaking Techniques

The wine is composed of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot. It was matured for 24 months in French oak barrels, with 62% new oak. Extended maturation gives the wine additional texture and complexity while allowing its fruit, tannins and oak character to integrate.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep garnet red

Aroma: Chocolate-covered cherry, blueberry, graphite and forest floor with subtle cedar and spice

Palate: Rich and supple, with forest-fruit compote, black cherry, mocha, cigar box and carob

Finish: Long and polished, with silky integrated tannins, dark fruit and warm earthy nuances
