Giovanni Rosso is one of Serralunga d'Alba's respected family estates, known for producing vineyard-specific Barolo from some of the commune's most important sites. Ceretta is a prestigious cru in Serralunga d'Alba, producing Nebbiolo with depth, structure and a distinctive combination of ripe fruit and mineral character.

Vintage Conditions

The 2021 vintage provided excellent conditions for Nebbiolo, with a long growing season that encouraged slow and even ripening. The resulting wines show excellent aromatic intensity, freshness and firm structure, giving them considerable potential for development in bottle.

Winemaking Techniques

Made from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the Ceretta vineyard, the grapes are traditionally fermented with extended skin contact to extract colour, flavour and tannin. The wine is subsequently matured in large oak vessels, allowing its substantial structure to soften while preserving the purity of the vineyard expression.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep garnet red

Aroma: Black cherry, raspberry and violet with notes of liquorice, dried herbs, spice and crushed stone

Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe dark fruit, vibrant acidity and firm yet polished tannins

Finish: Long, savoury and mineral-driven, with lingering red fruit, spice and earthy nuances
