Giovanni Rosso is a family-owned estate based in Serralunga d'Alba, one of the most renowned communes of Barolo. The estate has been farming vineyards in the area for generations and is particularly recognised for producing structured Nebbiolo wines that express the character of Serralunga's distinctive limestone and marl soils.

Vintage Conditions

The 2019 vintage was a strong year in Barolo, with a long growing season that allowed Nebbiolo to develop excellent concentration and aromatic complexity while retaining freshness. The resulting wines are structured, balanced and well suited to extended ageing.

Winemaking Techniques

Made from 100% Nebbiolo from the Serra vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba, the grapes are carefully selected and traditionally fermented to preserve the character of the site. The wine is matured in large oak casks, allowing the tannins to soften while maintaining the purity of the fruit and the mineral character of the terroir.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep garnet red with ruby highlights

Aroma: Ripe cherry, raspberry and violet with notes of liquorice, tobacco, dried herbs and subtle spice

Palate: Full-bodied and structured, with concentrated red fruit, lively acidity and firm yet refined tannins
