Ester Canale Rosso Barolo Vigna Rionda is a prestigious expression from Giovanni Rosso, produced from the renowned Vigna Rionda cru in Serralunga d'Alba. The vineyard is one of the area's historic sites and is celebrated for producing Barolo with remarkable depth, structure and ageing potential.

Vintage Conditions

The 2021 vintage was particularly well suited to Nebbiolo, with a long growing season allowing gradual ripening and excellent development of flavour and tannin. The vintage produced wines with pronounced freshness, concentration and structure, making them well suited to extended cellaring.

Winemaking Techniques

Made from 100% Nebbiolo from Vigna Rionda, the grapes are carefully selected and traditionally fermented with extended maceration. The wine is matured in large oak casks, allowing the substantial tannins to integrate while preserving the purity, mineral character and individuality of the vineyard.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep garnet red

Aroma: Red cherry, raspberry and dried rose with layers of violet, liquorice, tobacco, spice and earthy mineral notes

Palate: Powerful yet elegant, with concentrated red fruit, vibrant acidity and substantial but refined tannins
