WINERY INFORMATION

The Jansz vineyard is situated on Pipers Brook Road in Pipers Brook, Tasmania. The name of the company pays homage to the Dutch explorer who first sighted the island of Tasmania in 1642, Abel Janszoon Tasman. The Hill-Smith family purchased the property in 1997 and uplifted the status of this winery to one of the most acclaimed sparkling wine creators in Australia.

TASTING NOTES

The experienced great weather conditions which led to the harvest of fruit expressing intense flavours and natural acidity. Jansz Late Disgorged Vintage Cuvee 2007 is a pale gold-hued wine with a persistent bead. Aromas of sea spray, shucked oysters, brioche and truffle flow off the complex and aromatic nose while the scintillating and richly layered palate is brimming with truffled honey, caramelized pears and roasted hazelnut flavours. Consisting of an alcohol level of 12%, this sparkling white wine pairs marvellously with hard cheeses and spicy cuisine.
