Kalleske Moppa Barossa Valley Organic Shiraz 2024

Kalleske is a seventh-generation family-owned winery located near Greenock in the north-western Barossa Valley. The Kalleske family has been farming and growing grapes in the Moppa district since 1853, making them one of the region's longest-established winegrowing families. Today, Kalleske is recognised as the Barossa Valley's oldest certified organic and biodynamic vineyard, farm and winery. All wines are estate-grown and crafted using minimal-intervention winemaking to express the unique character of the vineyard and region.

Vintage Conditions

The 2024 Barossa Valley vintage benefited from a warm and generally dry growing season, with timely rainfall and moderate conditions supporting balanced vine growth and even fruit ripening. The resulting Shiraz displays excellent flavour concentration, freshness and varietal definition.

Winemaking Techniques

The Moppa Shiraz is produced from organically and biodynamically grown estate fruit. Traditional winemaking techniques, including open fermentation and careful maturation, are used to preserve vineyard expression while building complexity, texture and structure. Kalleske's minimal-intervention philosophy allows the fruit and site to remain the focus of the finished wine.

Aroma: Ripe blackberry, dark plum, blueberry and black cherry layered with spice, liquorice and subtle savoury notes
