Lambrook Wines is a boutique winery located in the cool-climate region of the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. The estate focuses on producing premium wines that express the unique terroir of the region. The Emerson Reserve range represents the winery's commitment to crafting wines that showcase the purity and elegance of the Adelaide Hills.

Vineyard and Vintage Conditions

The 2018 Emerson Reserve Sparkling Pinot Noir is sourced from select vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, known for their cool climate and high altitude. The cool growing season of 2018 allowed for slow ripening, preserving the natural acidity and delicate flavours of the Pinot Noir grapes. The wine is produced in limited quantities, with only 500 dozen bottles made.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-picked and whole-bunch cold pressed to extract the finest juice. Fermentation occurred in small batches, and the wine was then bottle fermented for 4.5 years on lees, following the traditional method. This extended lees ageing imparts complexity and depth to the wine, enhancing its texture and flavour profile.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Pale blush with a fine, persistent bead.

• Aroma: Complex bouquet of red apple, red berries, and subtle floral notes, with hints of toasted almond and brioche.

• Palate: Elegant and refined, with flavours of red fruit and a touch of spice, balanced by a creamy mouthfeel and crisp acidity.

• Finish: Long and dry, with a nutty complexity and a refreshing finish.
