Lambrook Wines is a boutique winery located in the cool-climate region of the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. The estate focuses on producing premium wines that express the unique terroir of the region. The Seed range represents the winery's commitment to crafting wines that showcase the purity and elegance of the Adelaide Hills.

Vineyard and Vintage Conditions

The 2024 Seed Shiraz is sourced from select vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, known for their cool climate and high altitude. The cool growing season of 2024 allowed for slow ripening, preserving the natural acidity and delicate flavours of the Shiraz grapes. The wine is produced in limited quantities, with only 500 dozen bottles made.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-picked and cold soaked for 24 hours to enhance colour extraction and aromatic intensity. Fermentation occurred in small open-top fermenters with hand plunging, and 20% whole bunch fruit was included to add complexity. The wine was then pressed and matured for 9 months in French oak barriques, 30% of which were new, to impart subtle oak nuances and contribute to the wine's structure.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Bright ruby red with a youthful hue.

• Aroma: Complex bouquet of black cherry, plum, and raspberry, with underlying notes of earthy undergrowth, briar, and subtle hints of mint and cacao.

• Palate: Medium-bodied with a harmonious balance of red fruit flavours, silky tannins, and a touch of savouriness.
