Meerea Park was founded in 1991 and remains a family‑run winery in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Overseen today by Rhys and Garth Eather, the estate has earned a reputation for consistently delivering clean, fruit‑driven wines based on traditional Hunter Valley vineyards and modern varietal styles.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2022 XYZ Chardonnay draws fruit from established vineyards in Pokolbin and the Upper Hunter. A relatively mild and evenly ripened season delivered fruit with balanced sugar and acid levels. Natural acidity remained high thanks to early harvest timing and careful vineyard management.

Winemaking Process

After cold pressing, the juice was fermented in French oak barrels without malolactic fermentation. Lees stirring was used sparingly for texture and mouthfeel. The result is a wine that maintains varietal purity while showing subtle oak integration.

Tasting Notes

Light straw in colour with aromas of nectarine, white peach and gentle citrus notes. On the palate it is medium-bodied with harmonious stone fruit and mild toasty oak. Flavours are clean and energetic, carried by slatey acidity and finishing with clarity and length.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with fresh seafood like prawns or oysters, chicken or turkey dishes, mild cheeses or herbed vegetables. Its drive and freshness also work well with creamy pasta or light Asian fare.
