Moppity Vineyards is a family‑run operation established in 2002 by Jason and Alecia Brown, with vineyards situated across three cool‑climate regions in Southern New South Wales: Hilltops, Canberra and Tumbarumba. Named after the southern constellation Atrius, this Riesling reflects the estate's focus on crafting elegant expressive wines that capture each region’s purity and finesse.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2025 vintage followed a cool, extended season, allowing the grapes to develop fully with crisp acidity and restrained yields. Fruit was sourced from elevated sites across Canberra, Hilltops and Tumbarumba to showcase the combined regional influence behind the Atrius blend.

Winemaking

Grapes were harvested selectively and handled carefully to retain fresh varietal character. Fermentation was undertaken in stainless steel with minimal intervention, ensuring a pure and precise result. The finished wine remains dry with no overt oak influence, preserving its natural mineral clarity.

Tasting Notes

The wine pours pale straw with green hues and crystalline clarity, offering lifted aromas of lime zest lemon blossom green apple slate and jasmine. On the palate it is light‑bodied and crisp with vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavours underscored by a firm mineral backbone. The finish is long dry precise and impeccably clean.
