Winery Background

Moppity Vineyards is a family‑run estate founded by Jason and Alecia Brown in 2002 in the cool‑climate regions of Hilltops and Tumbarumba in New South Wales. The Lock & Key collection is known for delivering clear, refreshing wines that offer outstanding quality and value for money.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The 2024 Pinot Grigio is made from grapes picked at optimal ripeness from Hilltops and Tumbarumba sites. These cooler sites allow for slow ripening, preserving crisp acidity and varietal purity. Low yields and careful vineyard management helped deliver fruit with clean varietal characters.

Winemaking Process

Fruit was gently cool‑fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness. A small portion was fermented on skins for texture and depth. After a short period on lees to add roundness without masking the fruit the wine was filtered and bottled under screwcap to preserve vibrancy.

Tasting Notes

On the nose it shows vibrant scents of pear, citrus zest, blood orange and a hint of thyme. The palate is crisp and approachable with juicy pear and zesty citrus flavours and a subtle herbal edge. The finish is clean, bright and refreshing, true to its cool‑climate origins.

Pairs beautifully with fresh seafood, light salads, grilled vegetables or soft cheese with herbs. Its bright acidity and clear fruit focus make it versatile at the table.
