Established in 1972 by David Wynn, Mountadam Vineyards is one of Eden Valley’s pioneering estates. Known for its elevated, cool-climate vineyards, Mountadam has built a strong reputation for elegant, structured wines that combine regional character with finesse. Cabernet Sauvignon from this site shows a distinctive balance of power and refinement.

Vineyards & Vintage Conditions
The fruit is grown on the estate’s high-altitude vineyards (up to 550m above sea level) in Eden Valley, where cooler temperatures and rocky soils ensure slow ripening, deep colour, and fine tannins. The 2022 vintage was mild and even, producing Cabernet Sauvignon with purity, lifted aromatics, and beautifully integrated acidity.

Winemaking
The grapes were hand-picked and fermented in small batches to allow precise control. Extended maceration on skins built depth and structure, while maturation in French oak barriques (a portion new) added spice and complexity without overwhelming the fruit. Minimal intervention winemaking preserved freshness and varietal expression.
