Oliver’s Taranga is a sixth-generation family estate in McLaren Vale, guided by winemaker Corrina Wright. The winery is renowned for crafting small-batch wines that showcase the region’s power and elegance while staying true to its rich family heritage.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The 2022 vintage in McLaren Vale was marked by long, even ripening conditions. Cool nights preserved acidity, while consistent warmth ensured deep concentration of flavour, resulting in a Cabernet with structure, vibrancy, and poise.

Winemaking Process
The DJ Reserve Cabernet spent 18 months in French oak, around 30% of which was new. This approach lends the wine depth, subtle spice, and age-worthy tannin structure, while allowing the varietal’s purity of fruit to shine.

Tasting Notes
Rich aromas of cassis, blackberry, smoked meats, and coffee grinds lead into a palate layered with mint, dark cherry, blackcurrant, and subtle anise. The tannins are fine yet powerful, giving way to a long finish that combines fruit intensity with savoury complexity.
