Oliver’s Taranga is a proud sixth-generation family estate nestled in McLaren Vale. Under the stewardship of Corrina Wright, this winery yields small-batch, handcrafted wines that reflect both the depth of tradition and a refined sense of place.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The 2022 vintage was exceptional, defined by a long, cool ripening period and an absence of heat spikes. These optimal conditions allowed the Shiraz to mature gracefully, developing rich flavour while preserving natural freshness and balance

Winemaking Process
This Shiraz is drawn from 15- to 70-year-old vines planted in the Taranga vineyard. Portions of the fruit underwent cold soaking and extended maceration, then matured for 18 months in hogsheads and puncheons (approximately 20% new oak). The blending of blocks ensures layered complexity and harmonious structure

Tasting Notes
Deep maroon in colour, the wine opens with comforting aromas of dark chocolate, mocha, mulberry, and blackberry. On the palate, flavours of coffee grounds, chocolate nibs, star anise, cedar, and salted bitter chocolate meld seamlessly with ripe red fruits and dusty earth. Fine, plentiful tannins and gentle oak integration frame a generous, full-bodied finish.
