WINERY INFORMATION

Located in the heart of Central Otago, Quartz Reef produces premium Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Chardonnay wines using the Methode Traditionelle winemaking technique. The wine brand is named after the largest quartz rock deposit in New Zealand, lying beneath the company’s vineyards at Bendigo Station. The wine estate was founded in 1996 by three partners – Rudi Bauer, John Perriam and Trevor Scott.

TASTING NOTES

Quartz Reef Méthode Traditionnelle Brut is a blend of 36% Chardonnay grapes with 64% Pinot Noir grapes, resulting in a pale yellow hued wine. The fragrant bouquet is perfumed with lively aromas of royal gala apple, brioche and lime. These fragrances make way for a fresh and smooth palate, which supported by a firm layer of creamy acidity, leads to a crisp and lengthy climax. This delightful Brut tastes marvellous with grilled lamb, fresh seafood and light poultry dishes.
