RockBare is a boutique South Australian label led by winemaker Shelley Torresan. Working closely with trusted growers across regions, the winery crafts expressive wines that embody site character, balance, and a contemporary style.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The 2023 Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1992 on the eastern slopes of McLaren Vale. The vineyard benefits from warm, dry days, cooling evening breezes, and excellent sun exposure through its high-wire trellis system. The season provided ideal ripening, producing fruit with richness and vibrancy.

Winemaking Process
Harvested in the cool early hours of morning to retain freshness, the fruit was fermented in small open-top fermenters for about two weeks. After malolactic conversion, the wine was matured for 12 months in seasoned French oak barriques and hogsheads, adding texture and integration without overpowering the fruit.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour with aromas of blueberries, mulberries, violets, baking spice, black olive, and a hint of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied yet plush, layered with blackberry compote, mint, pepper, and truffle notes. Fine-grained tannins frame the wine, leading to a long and harmonious finish.

Food Pairing
A versatile Shiraz that pairs beautifully with grilled meats, hearty barbecues, Korean-style dishes, or rich casseroles. Its vibrant fruit and spice balance make it an excellent partner for bold, flavourful cuisines.
