Winery Background

Ross Hill Wines is family owned and located in the Orange wine region of New South Wales, operated by the Robson family. Their Family Series wines, including “Lily”, are crafted to showcase approachable varietal fruit and reflect the site’s elevation and climate.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The Lily Sauvignon Blanc is grown at higher elevations on north‑facing slopes at around 750–850 metres in Orange. The 2023 vintage benefited from cool nights and steady ripening, which retained crisp acidity and allowed herbaceous and tropical characters to develop cleanly.

Winemaking Process

Grapes were gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel to preserve aromatic intensity and varietal clarity. Minimal lees contact was used to retain freshness and keep the palate lively and balanced.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw in colour, with aromas of fresh‑cut grass, lychee, passionfruit and lime zest. On the palate it is zesty and dry, with tropical fruit flavours, hints of herbaceous lift, bright acidity and a clean, refreshing finish.

Food Pairing

Pairs naturally with grilled fish, oysters, green salads, goat’s cheese or light canapés. It also suits dishes with citrus, herbs or creamy sauces.

Story Behind the Wine 

“Lily” was inspired by the founders’ granddaughter and bears her name. It represents Ross Hill’s commitment to cool-climate fruit purity and varietal honesty. The 2023 vintage is straightforward but detailed, bright, textural and made to be enjoyed without fuss.
