Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

The Cabernet Franc is grown on basalt soils at around 750–1,020 m elevation at the Griffin Road location. The 2022 season was gentle and cool, helping the grapes retain freshness and acid structure while reaching full flavour development, yielding fruit with both precision and depth.

Winemaking Process

Fruit was hand-picked and fermented using wild yeasts. Some parcels included whole-bunch components for extra texture and complexity. After fermentation, the wine aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barriques world-class cooperage before bottling under screwcap to ensure freshness and consistency.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet in the glass with pronounced aromas of forest berries, fresh plum, nettle and violet. On the palate it is medium-bodied and refined, with silky yet structured tannins, bright red and black fruit, hints of spice and a savoury lift, carrying through to a seamless, lingering finish.

Food Pairing

Pairs splendidly with herb-roasted lamb, grilled pork, mushroom risotto or aged goat’s cheese. Its combination of fruit richness and savoury texture also works well alongside vegetable moussaka or charred aubergine dishes.
