Schild Estate is a family-owned winery in the Barossa Valley with a winemaking heritage dating back to 1952. Sourcing fruit from estate vineyards, including some of the region's oldest vine sites, the winery is known for producing wines that reflect the richness and character of the Barossa.

Region & Vintage Conditions

The 2022 GSM is crafted from estate-grown fruit sourced from the Three Springs, Kleemann and Hermann's vineyards in the Barossa Valley. A blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro, the wine captures the region's warm climate, delivering ripe fruit intensity while maintaining balance and freshness.

Winemaking Techniques

Each variety is vinified separately to preserve its individual character before blending. The wine is matured in oak to integrate the fruit and build texture, resulting in a smooth, balanced GSM that is ready to enjoy while also rewarding short to medium-term cellaring.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep ruby red with vibrant crimson hues.

Aroma: Aromas of dark cherry, plum and red currant are complemented by savoury spice, subtle herbs and a hint of chocolate.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with generous flavours of ripe red and dark berries, supported by soft tannins, gentle spice and well-balanced acidity.

Finish: Smooth and lingering with layers of juicy fruit and savoury spice.
