Tellurian Wines is a family-owned, organically managed vineyard and winery located in the Heathcote region of Victoria. Their ‘Estate’ range focuses on capturing the character of the land, the ancient red Cambrian soils and the premium vine parcels that define this area.

Region & Vintage Conditions

The 2022 vintage delivered excellent growing conditions in Heathcote, producing Shiraz fruit with fine concentration and balance. The warm days and cool nights, combined with low-yielding vines, allowed the grapes to achieve rich flavour without losing freshness.

The fruit for the ‘Tranter’ Shiraz is hand-picked from premium estate vineyard blocks known for producing top-quality Shiraz. These vines are carefully managed to maximise flavour depth, structural integrity and varietal expression.

Winemaking

Fermentation was conducted with attention to detail to enhance fruit expression and preserve elegance. The wine was then matured in a blend of new and seasoned French oak barrels, adding texture, spice and complexity while keeping the primary fruit vibrant.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep crimson with purple-tinged edges.

Aroma: A lifted bouquet of blackberry, dark plum and black cherry, layered with hints of cracked pepper, baking spice and subtly toasted oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and polished, offering rich dark fruit flavours, refined tannins and well-integrated oak. The finish is long, structured and balanced with excellent youth.

Finish: Sustained and satisfying, leaving lingering notes of dark berries, spice and smooth oak through the end.
