Winery Overview
Tellurian Wines is a family-owned vineyard and winery based in the Heathcote region of Victoria. The estate is rooted in organically farmed vineyards perched on ancient Cambrian soils and is widely known for producing elegant, expressive wines that reflect place and time. The “Evo” label – short for “evolution,” captures the estate’s modern take on Heathcote Shiraz: refined, lively and full of character.
Region & Vintage Conditions
The 2023 vintage in the Heathcote region offered favourable conditions: a cool growing season that preserved fruit clarity and freshness, combined with low yields that added intensity and depth to the grapes.
Source
Grapes are selected from estate-owned vineyard blocks (Blocks 2 & 3) at Tellurian. A small percentage of Mourvèdre is added for spice, savoury lift and complexity.
Winemaking
To craft this wine, 10 % whole-bunch fruit was included and fermented on skins for 14 days. The wine was then matured in older French oak barrels to soften the texture while preserving fresh fruit.
