Winery Overview

Von Rieben Chardonnay is produced by the Byrne family. The wine is grown on estate vineyards located beside historic sites linked to Baron Hermann Von Rieben, who settled in South Australia in 1849. These vineyard blocks continue to perform consistently and contribute to the clear, aromatic style shown in this Chardonnay. The wine is vegan friendly.

Region and Vintage Conditions

The 2025 vintage supported steady fruit development, resulting in clean varietal expression and balanced acidity. The fruit quality allowed for a Chardonnay with bright aromas and a layered palate.

Winemaking Techniques

Estate-grown Chardonnay was harvested and handled gently to maintain freshness. Controlled fermentation helped retain citrus and stone fruit character, while measured lees work contributed to texture. Oak was used subtly to support, not dominate, the fruit profile.

Aroma: Lime zest, white stone fruit, creamy vanilla, white chocolate and a touch of mineral lift
Palate: Fresh and vibrant with citrus, passionfruit and orchard fruit flavours. The texture is soft and rounded, supported by clean acidity and balanced fruit weight.
Finish: Zesty and lingering with grapefruit notes and subtle mineral tones
